The RoleThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all processes. This role supports warehouse staff, coordinates logistics, manages inventory, and ensures timely order fulfillment. The Warehouse Supervisor acts as a liaison between warehouse personnel, management, and other departments, helping to implement process improvements and maintain high operational standards. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely picking, packing, shipping, and receiving goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with inventory control systems to ensure stock accuracy.
- Train and mentor new and existing warehouse team members.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with scheduling and labor planning to meet workload demands.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, Purchasing, Customer Service) to ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot issues related to orders, inventory discrepancies, or shipping delays.
- Maintain documentation and generate reports as needed (e.g., daily logs, inventory audits).
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as required.
- Assure all sales orders are shipped/confirmed for proper invoicing.
- Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound freight shipments using Transportation Management System (TMS) portals and direct communication with carriers to ensure timely pickups, deliveries, and efficient transportation operations. Manage warehouse operations within limited space, optimizing layout, storage systems, and workflow to maximize efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Experience:
5+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. - WMS Software System: ERP, Oracle, SAP, Blue Cherry
- Education:
High school diploma or GED, and or equivalent experience in warehouse operations. - Technical
Skills:
Knowledge of warehouse procedures, safety standards, and inventory control systems (experience with Microsoft Dynamics BC is a plus). Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word Forklift Certification preferred. - Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with all levels of leadership and external partners. Billingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred. - Collaboration:
Ability to work cross-functionally and problem-solve with internal teams and external customers. - Skills:
Detail Oriented, Strong leadership, problem-solving, Self Motivated, Managing high-pressure environments, and organizational skills. - Time Management:
