Plant Associate

Pay Range: $20.75 an hour

Shift: Wednesday-Saturday

Wed: 12pm-6pm

Thurs: 6am-6pm

Fri: 6am-6pm

Sat: 5am-5pm

The Plant Associate will ensure all waste is unloaded from vehicles, decontaminated, and staged for scanning and processing. The individual will perform these duties safely and productively.

• Unload waste from incoming vehicles. Separate non‑autoclavable waste to be incinerated.
• Stage waste on conveyor system or properly stack waste for scanning in the Biotrack system.
• Scan waste into the Biotrack system for proper record‑keeping.
• Load autoclave bins or incinerator hopper with waste for processing.
• Place reusable containers on tub wash line for decontamination.
• Operate tub wash unit ensuring proper operation; remove clean tubs, inspect and stack for loading onto assigned vehicle for reuse.
• Operate tub wash sprayer for oversized reusable tubs ensuring unit operation; inspect tubs and stack for loading onto assigned vehicle for reuse.
• Decontaminate vehicle cargo‑carrying portion, reload assigned reusable tubs, and ensure no free liquid on floor. Inform plant supervisor vehicle ready to be moved from dock area.
• Ensure housekeeping issues such as spills cleaned up, floor dry, debris off floor are addressed immediately.
• Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience, preferably in a plant environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and understand and follow health and safety directives, performance and conduct standards, policies and procedures applicable to the role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence.
