Responsibilities
  • Plan assembly procedures using blueprints
  • Check availability of parts, components, and materials (i.e., use MFGpro to confirm allocations, locations, and part disposition)
  • Follow up on shortages or faulty parts
  • Assemble parts and components in proper sequence
  • Make all required corrections/modifications according to work order/customer request
  • As much as possible, test and troubleshoot assemblies and make all necessary adjustments for the proper operation of the rig before release to test pad
  • Assist in assigning duties
  • Order Bill of Materials (BoM) and blueprints
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations/guidelines
  • Maintain work‑related records and reports (i.e., quality defects, unplanned material requisition)
  • Ensure availability of all stored supplies
  • Perform other duties as required or directed
  • Train new hires
Occasional, Infrequent Tasks
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
  • Return leftover parts back to Warehouse
Knowledge/Education
  • HS Diploma or GED required
  • The training period for this position:
    Six months to a year
  • Two year minimum in current skill set with some leadership and training skills
  • Must have training in reading blueprints and electrical and hydraulic schematics
Skills and Abilities
  • Required to read, write and comprehend English
  • Use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, BoM’s and schematics
  • Ability to work shop orders using fundamental knowledge of assembly techniques and applications
  • Overall knowledge of product line
  • Familiar with basic hand tools, mechanical assembly, electrical sequences and techniques
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles
  • Knowledge of MFG Pro transactions that directly affect their work area
