Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Production, oversees daily manufacturing of production operations to ensure products are produced safely, efficiently, on schedule and within quality standards. This role manages hourly production staff, coordinates workflow, monitors equipment and processes, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet company goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises production activities for assigned area or during an assigned shift.
  • Supervises employees that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, Engineering, quality, warehouse and management teams.
  • Monitors output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or targets.
  • Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Train and coach production employees.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from HR.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and enforces safety policies and procedures.
  • Tracks production metrics and prepares reports on performance, efficiency, and downtime.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years’ experience; preferred bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or Business degree.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of production processes, safety standards and quality systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work flexible shift, including weekends.
  • Experience in a union environment preferred.
  • Requires regular movement throughout Paligen facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
  • Work will require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and noise.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
Other Requirements:
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Background Investigation / Drug Screen: Required.
