Lab Technician
Our client, a Paint Manufacturing company, is looking for a Lab Technician for their Garland, TX location.
Responsibilities:- Previous lab or manufacturing/industrial experience is required.
- Performs laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids.
- Performs laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.
- Determines chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
- Sets up, readjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Lab Tech performs basic technical tests on products and samples.
- Primary responsibility will be preparing, filling, and shipping color panel requests.
- Other responsibilities may include preparing and analyzing materials and samples, performing basic calculations, and cleaning and maintaining the lab.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently to maintain a smooth and efficient assembly line, ensuring timely completion of orders.
- Accurately prepare and mix paint samples according to customer specifications and product standards. Use a variety of tools and techniques to match colors precisely, ensuring that all paint samples meet quality and consistency standards.
- Operate machinery to cut paint samples into proper sizes and apply labels according to product specifications for shipping.
- Perform routine checks and tests to ensure all paint samples meet required quality standards before shipping.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of painting sample production, including request numbers, color codes, and other relevant information.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while working in the lab and on the assembly line.
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of basic math skills
- Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis
- Previous lab experience
- Knowledge of basic painting concepts and property calculations.
- Knowledge of basic color theory and instrumentation
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
