Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is hiring a Nursing Supervisor!

Join Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland and be part of a dynamic environment dedicated to delivering top‑notch outpatient surgical services. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for helping to oversee the daily clinical operations, supervising nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. This role provides leadership in staff development, infection prevention, quality improvement, and operational efficiency while promoting a culture of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Clinical

Leadership & Staff Supervision
  • Supervise and support nursing staff in the delivery of patient care to ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to nursing personnel to promote professional growth and accountability.
  • Monitor staffing levels, assignments, and workflow to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Address staff performance concerns and participate in corrective action planning when needed.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and support for nursing staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
Infection Prevention & Control
  • Help oversee compliance with infection prevention and control policies, procedures, and evidence‑based practices.
  • Monitor adherence to hand hygiene, sterilization, disinfection, and environmental cleaning protocols.
  • Participate in infection surveillance activities, including identification, tracking, trending, and reporting of healthcare‑associated infections.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions related to infection prevention findings.
  • Ensure staff competency and ongoing education related to infection prevention standards, including regulatory requirements.
Quality Improvement & Patient Safety
  • Support and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QUAPI) initiatives.
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, incident reports, and performance indicators to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis and action plan development related to quality and patient safety events.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with policy review, audits, and implementation of process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation agency standards.
  • Assist with survey readiness and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Promote effective interdisciplinary communication to support continuity of care.
  • Facilitate staff meetings, huddles, and quality discussions.
  • Help communicate organizational goals, policy changes, and clinical updates to staff.
Qualifications
  • Current unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 3‑5 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Surgical experience in pre‑op/pacu and OR – Required.
  • ASC background preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention principles, quality improvement methodologies, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of nursing standards of practice and patient safety principles.
  • Understanding of infection prevention, surveillance, and control measures.
  • Experience with quality improvement processes and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead teams, manage conflict, and support staff development.
  • Strong organizational and decision‑making abilities.
