Nurse Manager, Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT)

The Nurse Manager, Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) duties include, but are not limited to the following: A Nurse Manager is an expert nurse who demonstrates:

  • Nurse Manager reports to the Chief Nurse of the assigned area.
  • Expertise in leadership at the systems level that is sustainable, creative, and complex. In collaboration with the Chief Nurse.
  • Create a safe, positive work environment which enhances care delivery and professional development of clinically competent staff.
  • Promote, create, demonstrate, and ensure a culturally diverse workforce in which the values and needs of all individuals are respected and supported.
  • Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
  • Demonstrates leadership in the application of the nursing process to patient care and organizational processes.
  • Nurse Managers performance encompasses a combination of clinical, educational, and administrative responsibilities.
  • The Nurse Manager, is responsible and accountable for 24/7 operations of the unit, ensuring that nursing personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with accepted standards of clinical practice.
  • The Nurse Manager is responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level. Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility, VISN, or VACO. Program is defined as a substantial coordinated group of activities impacting patients and/or employees.
  • The Nurse Manager assumes appropriate responsibility regarding administrative and clinical issues, such as staffing coverage, granting leave, and patient and/or staff issues.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday;  or  - May be required to work other shifts, be on call, work weekends and/or holidays as patient care and needs of the service require. Should operational needs dictate, candidates must be willing to work within other units (including community based outpatient clinics, for example) to assist and support continuation of the provision of care/services.
