Quality Assurance/Safety Technician – Food Manufacturing

Salary: $21 - $23 per hour.

Job Overview

Our company, a leading North American provider of fresh prepared foods, operates large-scale manufacturing facilities and maintains rigorous food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards. We seek an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to manage our HACCP and GMP programs, ensure compliance with food safety regulations, and oversee the manufacturing process to maintain high-quality products.

Responsibilities

Ensure plant compliance with food safety regulations and product quality standards.

Support front-line supervisors in implementing GMP and HACCP programs.

Maintain facilities and manufacturing procedures to meet quality, safety, environmental, and sanitation standards.

Conduct random on-floor quality inspections and internal audits to meet FDA standards.

Perform audits in warehouse and factory to verify corporate requirements.

Develop and schedule training programs for food safety and quality control.

Verify material quality and keep supplier information current; confirm final product meets chemical, microbiological, and specification criteria.

Carry out factory audits, including internal audits and pre-operational checks.

Investigate non-compliant products or practices and use findings to improve processes.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Food Science, Chemistry, Public Health, or Biological Science.

Knowledge of food safety standards.

Effective communication skills.

Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.

Computer literacy.

Proficiency in English;
Spanish is a plus.
