- Detail and finish drilling rigs – clean, polish, install decals and inspect all surfaces to meet quality and aesthetic standards before shipment.
- Assist quality control in identifying and correcting imperfections or inconsistencies.
- Prepare components and assemblies for shipment – select appropriate packing materials, secure items to prevent damage, label crates or containers accurately.
- Coordinate shipping – generate documentation, work with logistics providers, load equipment, and ensure timely dispatch of rigs and components.
- Track outgoing shipments, manage packing materials inventory, and report discrepancies or shortages.
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling heavy equipment and hazardous materials; ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline detailing and shipping processes in alignment with Lean principles.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to align on delivery timelines and customer requirements.
- Train new hires and develop processes.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to use and comprehend specifications, work instructions, drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of all mechanical components on a rig and their ideal operation.
- Knowledge of packing and shipping standards and safe securing methods for transportation.
- Overall knowledge of product lines.
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office and ERP systems.
- Hand and power tools proficiency.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing preferred.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Safety‑mindful with a strong work ethic.
The role involves driving and physical delivery activities. Employees will regularly operate commercial motor vehicles and may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, traffic hazards, and a variety of delivery site environments. The position requires frequent bending, lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading of heavy items—typically up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Extended periods of sitting while driving are expected, along with performing pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required, depending on delivery site requirements.
