The Quality Control Inspector is a full-time, on-site position based in Garland, TX. This role is responsible for inspecting sheet metal parts, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include performing visual and dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement equipment; documenting inspection results; and identifying nonconformances. The Quality Control Inspector collaborates with production and engineering teams to communicate quality issues, support root-cause analysis, and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
The role also involves maintaining inspection records, following ISO 9001 procedures, and helping continuously improve quality processes and product reliability.
- Strong Quality Control and Inspection skills, including experience with visual, dimensional, and first-article inspections.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Management principles, ideally within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Effective Communication skills to clearly document findings and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications related to sheet metal fabrication.
- Proficiency with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and basic understanding of tolerances and GD&T.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, or a related industry is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in quality or manufacturing are a plus.
