Retail Assistant Store Manager

$13.00 to $19.00 per hour. Includes a commission structure that pays for every transaction processed. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $6.98 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Assistant Store Manager handles day‑to‑day store operations, promotes a positive and productive environment, partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruits and retains top talent, and drives financial goals. The role analyzes store financial statements, commits to asset protection, promotes the business, targets new customer acquisitions, and works with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms in FFL locations.

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and addressing issues promptly.
• Assist in training pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company channels.
• Open and close the store, count cash drawers and merchandise, and enforce asset protection procedures.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Administer store processes, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, presentation, store systems, and enterprise reporting.
• Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
• Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the integrity of loans issued.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
• Communicate clearly with employees about the store’s mission and profit objectives.
• Remain updated on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated supervisory ability.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May need to assist customers in parking lots or exterior storage areas.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Willing to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Assistant Store Managers work 40+ hours a week; hours are based on business needs and not guaranteed.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and office machines.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
