Responsibilities
- Create a warm, welcoming, and exceptional experience for every patient from check-in through check-out.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments while maintaining an efficient and productive doctor and hygiene schedule.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for all applicable clinical appointments.
- Present and discuss treatment plans with patients, helping them understand their recommended care and next steps.
- Conduct financial consultations and clearly communicate treatment costs, insurance benefits, and available payment options, as applicable.
- Collect patient payments and all monies due for services rendered.
- Maintain accurate patient accounts and support Accounts Receivable processes, including billing statements, aging reports, and collections, as applicable.
- File and follow up on insurance pre-determinations and other insurance-related needs.
- Check patients in and out efficiently while ensuring all necessary documentation and information is completed accurately.
- Proactively communicate with patients regarding appointments, treatment, insurance, and financial questions.
- Partner closely with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive patient experience.
- Take ownership of schedule opportunities, cancellations, and openings by working proactively to keep the schedule full and productive.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office environment.
- Support practice goals and contribute to a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing development to strengthen both individual and practice performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of front office experience; dental experience strongly preferred.
- Dental front office experience with scheduling, insurance verification, treatment presentation, and financial discussions preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of dental software strongly preferred; experience with Open Dental is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for helping patients.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable discussing treatment, insurance benefits, and financial responsibilities with patients.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support others and take ownership.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with both patients and team members.
