We are seeking a qualified ICC Master of Special Inspections to fulfill essential roles in testing observation and special inspections across various projects, ensuring adherence to applicable specifications for independent testing laboratories.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting sample preparations, collections, and testing.
- Performing field observations and inspections related to soil, concrete, grout, mortar, and asphalt.
- Documenting construction activities accurately on-site.
- Communicating clearly and effectively about test results and inspection findings.
- Providing mentorship and oversight to less experienced Engineering Technicians.

Key Responsibilities:- Understanding and executing both written and verbal instructions.
- Reviewing civil and structural plans and identifying relevant sections for the scope of work.
- Conducting various tests and observations as per project requirements.
- Documenting testing and inspections through daily field reports.
- Identifying and communicating non-conformance issues to project supervision.
- Maintaining and calibrating all assigned equipment according to industry standards.
- Caring for and operating nuclear density gauges, adhering to Radiation Safety Program Policy.
- Training and providing oversight to junior team members.
- Advanced knowledge of construction materials and testing procedures.
- Must possess relevant certifications and pass necessary tests, including ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I and Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety Training.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining accurate test records and reports.
- Proficient in using computer applications, with the ability to teach software programs.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a productive working environment.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs without assistance.
- Capability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Physical maneuverability around construction sites and excavations.
- Sufficient visual and auditory ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or 1 year with a BS in Engineering or applicable sciences.
- Certified in ACI Strength Testing and Aggregate Testing.
- Competency in reading and interpreting detailed plans and specifications.
- Understanding of Proctor Compaction Test and USCS Soil Classification.
- Preferred qualifications include Master of Special Inspections.
This is a full-time position, typically from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to adjust hours based on client construction schedules, which may include weekends and early morning shifts.
Travel Requirements:This role involves 100% travel across various project locations in the United States, with per diem and travel expenses included in the overall compensation.
Special Requirements :- A valid state driver's license is necessary.
- Must meet insurance requirements under corporation policies.
