Registered Nurse; RN Emergency Department Garner, NC

Overview

The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides total comprehensive nursing to patients and their families. The plan of care is based on the patient’s physical, psychological, socioeconomic status, and physician orders. The Clinical Nurse supports ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act, Wake Med's Division of Nursing Professional Practice model, and Wake Med's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model.

The four key concepts of PFCC are:
Dignity and Respect, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.

• Implement nursing plan of care based on assessment of patient’s physical, psychological, socioeconomic status, and physician orders.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in delivery of care.
• Adhere to ANA, NC Board of Nursing, and Wake Med practice standards.

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.

• Diploma in Nursing – required.
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing – required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a related area – required.
• No experience required if holding preferred education level.
