Join Amazon’s mission to become Earth’s safest place to work. We’re seeking a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead a comprehensive safety program affecting thousands of people. You’ll work at the intersection of operations and safety, shaping the future of workplace health and delivering real-time solutions that protect our people.
You will serve as the site’s safety facilitator, coordinating the Global WHS Program, partnering with Operations leadership, and using data-driven insights to reduce risk and enhance productivity. You’ll lead risk assessments and transform safety data into actionable strategies, build a high-performing WHS team, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead and implement the Global WHS Program at the site, ensuring safety is integrated into daily operations.
- Partner with Operations leadership to weave safety into processes and use data analytics to drive preventive measures and operational excellence.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and translate safety data into actionable strategies.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing WHS team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
- Measure performance against WHS policies, analyze metrics, and conduct site audits to address non-compliance issues.
- Establish trusted partnerships with site leadership; act as a safety advisor balancing safety with operational demands.
- Oversee recordkeeping, workplace organization, WHS training programs, and related compliance requirements.

Additional Job Elements- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently lift, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Stand or walk for up to 12 hours per shift.
- Work in environments with varying noise levels and variable temperatures; some sites include outdoor loading areas.
- Climb and descend stairs as applicable to site.
- Maintain emergency response capabilities and assist on-site during emergencies.
Those who do not have Adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must obtain within 3 weeks of start date.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
- Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
- Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.

Salary and BenefitsThe base salary range is listed below. Your Amazon package includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
