Job DescriptionSeeking a strategic and analytically driven Director of Real Estate Governance to play a key role in shaping and advancing the real estate strategy across a ~100 location global commercial portfolio. The role will inform decision‑making, optimize the portfolio, and drive long‑term business value.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for developing and supporting global real‑estate business processes, governance, compliance, and alignment with internal stakeholders to ensure processes meet operational excellence standards across the organization.
- Support the Global Head of Real Estate on strategic initiatives driving operational efficiency, organizational alignment, standardization of global frameworks, and financial approval governance.
- Own department meeting routines and cadences, internal stakeholder alignment, all internal and external processes, and monthly and quarterly financial and operational governance routines and approvals.
- Track all approvals for official audits and compliance requirements.
- Support real‑estate functional leaders to standardize processes, ensure KPI’s and metrics, and align executive governance approval requirements for overall department.
- Conduct diligence and analyze all existing processes and develop a programmatic approach to ensure alignment, updates, and socialization.
- Build and support an ongoing operational excellence program, tracking, and metrics to ensure the team is in a constant state of improvement.
- Analyze in‑source versus out‑source opportunities for efficiency, talent, and long‑term success of the function.
- Prepare executive‑level presentations, business cases, and briefing materials to communicate recommendations to senior leadership.
- Track and manage the real‑estate team workload in partnership with the Global Head of Real Estate, coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely execution of strategic initiatives and reporting on outcomes to senior leadership.
- 10‑15 years of experience in real‑estate related leadership, governance, compliance, strategy, corporate real‑estate, commercial real‑estate advisory, or a related role.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial real‑estate fundamentals, market dynamics, facilities or occupancy planning, portfolio analytics, with familiarity of lease structures and real‑estate accounting standards.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex datasets and translate quantitative findings into clear, actionable strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, analytical rigor, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced global environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Excel).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex analysis clearly; bachelor’s degree required (Business, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred).
- Global experience preferred.
This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of New York. The pay range for this position is $190,000‑$220,000 USD per year.
Physical Requirements- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Corient will require proof of work authorization.
- Must be willing to execute Corient’s Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non‑Disclosure Agreement, which include post‑employment obligations relating to non‑solicitation, confidentiality, and non‑disclosure.
