Prepares cost estimates for a variety of private and public projects with scopes of work including earthwork, concrete, and asphalt paving. For assigned projects, oversees all administrative and technical aspects of the bidding process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Analyze contract documents, plans, specifications, and project scopes to develop accurate bids and estimates.
- Collaborate with area management to determine project bidding strategies.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to evaluate project requirements.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure complete scope coverage.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, resource allocations, and productivity assessments for self-performed work.
- Identify and recommend value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to improve competitiveness.
- Develop, prepare, and submit bid proposals.
- Negotiate and secure contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Monitor daily job costs and performance, utilizing lessons learned to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring high levels of client satisfaction

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Three (3) or more years of experience in related field
- Experience with cost estimating/budgeting
- Viewpoint, Bluebeam, and HCSS Heavy Bid (or equivalent bidding software) experience a plus
