Purpose Statement

To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student. Administers and coordinates behavior management for the assigned school; supervises and evaluates classroom instruction; monitors student progress; sets standards and expectations for the assigned school; communicates with the school community.

Essential Functions

* Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school

* Administers and coordinates behavior management programs for the assigned school

* Monitors student progress and develops methods for monitoring student achievement

* Establishes and implements policies and procedures for the assigned school

* Initiates designs and implements programs to meet the specific needs of the school

* Develops and implements effective school-community relationships

* Administers, supervises, and evaluates classroom instruction

* Makes recommendations concerning the school's administration and instruction

* Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the school's administration

* Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations

* Maintains active relationships with students and parents

* Maintains regular attendance and punctuality

* Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective working environment

* Any other duties as assigned by the principal or supervisory administration

Discipline Management Systems and Data Analysis

* Input and maintain accurate discipline data in School-Wide Information Systems (SWIS)

* Analyze behavior reports on a daily basis

* Create and maintain a list of students that need behavioral support, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure students receive appropriate support

* Provide classroom management guidance and support (on an as-needed basis) to teams/individual teachers using SWIS feedback data

* Assess PBIS school-wide system quarterly

Evaluation Responsibilities

Teachers and other personnel designated by the principal.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

* A master's degree in educational administration from an accredited college or university required

* A valid Indiana Building Level Administration License required

* Previous administrative/supervisory experience preferred

* A minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience

* Demonstrated practical verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, students, parents, and the public

* Experience at the elementary level is preferred
