PNW Student - College & Career Readiness Intern
Job SummaryCOATES Inc. is seeking a College & Career Readiness Intern to support our student programs. This is a impact-driven internship where you will work directly with students, support program delivery, and help strengthen systems that prepare students for life after high school.
This internship is part of the COATES Inc. Student Success Fellowship, a hands‑on learning experience designed to prepare future education leaders. Interns will gain direct experience supporting college and career readiness programs while developing professional skills in advising, facilitation, and program implementation.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, student success, and making a difference in underserved communities.

Start Date:
Fall 2026
Hours:
10–15 hours/week, including weekly planning meetings with your supervisor.
Pay: $12.00/hour

Responsibilities- This role requires in‑person and virtual support
- Facilitate college and career planning sessions in schools
- Provide 1:1 or small group student advising
- Track student engagement and outcomes
- Collaborate with school staff and families
- Assist with event planning and community visits
- Draft and prepare correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate scheduling for meetings and events, including logistics and materials.
- Participate in professional development and reflection activities
- Contribute ideas to improve student programming and engagement
- Support the development of tools, resources, or systems for student success
- Experience working with youth, ideally high school students
- Familiarity with college/career readiness topics (e.g. FAFSA, Common App, Scholarship Support)
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Reliable transportation to travel to schools
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Passion for working with students and supporting their success
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) - Bilingual is a plus
- Real‑world experience in college and career readiness programming
- Opportunity to lead parts of sessions or initiatives
- Exposure to nonprofit leadership and program design
- Mentorship from COATES Inc. leadership
- Experience that can translate into careers in education, counseling, or workforce development
- PNW work‑study eligible student
