The Kindergarten Teacher is a full-time, on-site position based at Hosford Park Elementary School in Gary, IN. This role is responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons that support foundational literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional development. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment, manage daily routines, and use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.

Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans and learning materials, assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with families and school staff. The Kindergarten Teacher will also participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and collaborative planning with colleagues.

• Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with demonstrated ability to support kindergarten-level learning.
• Experience in Lesson Planning and Training to design structured, developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful manner.
• Relevant teaching certification or licensure for elementary education in the state of Indiana.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; advanced degrees are beneficial.
• Ability to manage a classroom, implement positive behavior supports, and foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Comfort with collaborating on curriculum, using basic educational technology, and adapting instruction for diverse learners.
• Commitment to professional ethics, child safety, and ongoing growth as an educator.
