Stormwater Project Engineer
Reputable Chicago-based firm is hiring a Stormwater Project Engineer for their team in Gary, Indiana! Responsibilities include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways (bridge and culvert crossings), analyzing flood problem areas to identify problems, looking for solutions, and creating a design with recommended alternatives. The role also involves stormwater system analysis and design for municipal/roadway projects (conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best management practices), design of soil erosion/sediment control practices, serving as the technical lead on projects, performing a variety of design tasks (calculations/models, report/plan preparation, quantity calculations, construction details, specifications, cost estimates, and other related tasks), working on multi-discipline projects with other disciplines, reviewing engineering work completed by others, building/maintaining client and vendor relationships, and mentoring/training junior staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 7+ years of water resources experience, experience with municipal and/or highway drainage design projects, PE License for Illinois and/or Indiana, proficient in Microstation, experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (including HEC-RAS and SWMM), experience in Auto Cad preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience. Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
