Job Overview

This position provides short‑term, surge, and on‑demand personal financial counseling for military service members and their families at installation sites.

• Deliver full‑spectrum personal financial counseling, including one‑on‑one sessions, briefings, and presentations.
• Consult with commanders, providers, and staff; provide referral resources beyond counseling sessions.
• Co‑ordinate, publicize, and conduct Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle (arrival, pre‑ and post‑deployment, career events).
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and electronic communication tools (web‑based chat, video teleconference) as authorized by OSD FINRED Program Office.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations following DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trend information.
• Engage in in‑service training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned that align with the role’s intent.

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree + 4 years’ experience or high school diploma + 6 years’ experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizenship and fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish if required by contract).
• Ability to obtain a Tier 2 security investigation.
• Pass Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Certified as Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• Valid driver’s license (if required).

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (base salary) with potential short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
