Product Support Sales Representative

Location:

Gary, IN
Compensation range: $60,000 – $100,000 per year
Reporting to:
Construction Equipment Group

• Sell OEM parts and services
• Sell aftermarket parts and services
• Make cold calls to equipment owners in the assigned territory
• Work within the territory to grow sales
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance and be ready for work at the designated start time

• Associate’s degree and 4–6 years of experience
• Strong negotiation, selling, and customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and automobile insurance
• Proficiency with Word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, and equipment manufacturing technical software
• Intermediate language skills:
  Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before customer or employee groups
• Intermediate mathematical skills:
  Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry
• High reasoning ability:
  Solve practical problems and manage situations with limited standardization

• Must sit, stand, walk, climb; use hands, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, prop. Must talk, hear, taste, smell
• No special vision requirements
• Must work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, non‑weather wet or humid conditions, small upward shafts, outdoor weather conditions, and toxic or caustic chemicals
