Product Support Sales Representative

Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a full‑time Product Support Sales Representative reporting to our Gary, IN location. The primary role is to provide OEM and aftermarket parts and service sales throughout the assigned territory.

Compensation ranges between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.

• Sales of OEM parts
• Sales of aftermarket parts
• Make cold calls to equipment owners in assigned territory
• Work in territory and provide growth in sales in those areas
• Incorporate Alta's guiding principles into daily activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and readiness at designated start time

• Associate’s degree and 4–6 years of experience
• Strong negotiation, selling and customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and automobile insurance
• Proficiency in Word processing, spreadsheets, accounting and equipment manufacturing technical software
• Intermediate language skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
• Intermediate mathematical skills – ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts
• High reasoning ability – solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

• Functions:
  Regularly sit; frequently stand, walk, climb or balance; occasionally use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk/hear, taste/smell
• Vision:
  No special requirements
• Lift:
  Regularly up to 25 pounds; frequently 26–50 pounds
• Environment:
  Regularly work near moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high precarious places; occasionally work outdoors, around toxic or caustic chemicals
