Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for managing security activities to ensure the safety and security of gaming and entertainment guests and team members, as well as safeguarding all property. The role involves investigating potential security violations, taking corrective actions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the shift manager with overall casino security and coordinate security efforts to safeguard company assets, employees, and patrons in accordance with Internal Control Submissions and the rules of the Indiana Gaming Commission during the assigned shift.
  • Hold assigned security posts, guard transfers of money, chips, and jackpots, and perform hopper fills, table fills, and table credits.
  • Train, evaluate, and recommend disciplinary action for officers.
  • Patrol premises to discourage inappropriate behavior and intervene when necessary.
  • Write investigative and incident reports.
  • Address individuals not wearing a Commission Badge in non-public areas or unauthorized persons found in restricted zones.
  • Assume overall responsibility for security operations during the absence of the Security Shift Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.
Non-essential Job Functions
  • Attend seminars when needed.
Education And /Or Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is required and a minimum of one (1) year of guest service experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of progressive experience in security operations and supervisory experience is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

(Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.)
  • Obtain and maintain all licenses and certifications required by Federal, State, and the Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Pass a drug screening.
  • Prior experience in the gaming industry is strongly preferred.
  • Be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age.
  • Obtain a CPR/AED certificate and complete Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • Be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
Knowledge Of
  • Computer applications for composing clear, concise, and accurate reports.
  • County and state ordinances.
  • Electronic, video, and alarm functions.
  • CPR training.
  • Investigative procedures.
  • Extreme confidentiality.
Ability To
  • Work different types of events with varying schedules and days as needed.
  • Read and comprehend all necessary documentation, training materials, and policy information.
  • Assist sick or injured guests and team members.
  • Communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with guests and all levels of team members.
  • Use tools and equipment such as radios, computers, and other position‑specific equipment.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Communicate clearly, in English, with guests in a professional manner.
  • Work within Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana established policies and guidelines.
