We are seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Shop Support Technician to support our diesel maintenance operation through shop upkeep, inventory management, parts coordination, and hands‑on mechanical assistance. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within a diesel mechanic environment and develop their technical skills while helping maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop.

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop, including sweeping floors, removing trash, organizing work areas, and maintaining a professional work environment.
  • Perform janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms, break areas, and common spaces.
  • Assist mechanics with general shop cleanup and preparation of work areas.
  • Repair and assemble hoses, fittings, and other shop-related components as needed.
  • Pick up parts, supplies, and materials using a company vehicle from vendors and suppliers.
  • Receive, organize, label, and stock incoming parts and inventory, while sometimes using forklift.
  • Maintain accurate parts inventory and ensure items are properly stored and accessible.
  • Place orders for shop chemicals, cleaning supplies, and maintenance consumables while monitoring stock levels.
  • Assist with basic mechanical tasks and shop support duties under the direction of diesel technicians.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending, standing, sweeping, and moving parts/equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude or strong interest in diesel mechanics and fleet maintenance.
  • Desire to learn and grow in a diesel mechanic career path.
  • Forklift experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced shop environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
