The Fountain Group is currently seeking a
Maintenance Technician
for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in
Gary, IN
. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Description:
  • Payrate: $32/hr W2
  • Duration: 3 months contract – possible extension based on performance & budget.
  • 2nd Shift: Mon-Fri; 1pm to 9pm
  • 3rd Shift: Mon-Fri; 9pm to 6am
  • The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician II is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality.
  • Servicing and repairing complex equipment. Complies with applicable regulations and the department’s Safety program.
Required Skills:
  • Education:

    Minimum High School diploma or GED and mechanical apprenticeship and/or vocational school/technology certificate in mechanic.
  • Experience:

    Five (5) years of mechanical technical hands-on experience.
  • Must have a good working knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, pumps, valves, cylinders, conveyors, etc.
  • Ability to read and use schematics, gauges, tools and instruments.
  • Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks.
  • Must have sound knowledge and experience in Industrial Maintenance environment with repair and troubleshooting machine issues and breakdowns along with general maintenance.
  • Experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder.
  • Forklifts and scissor lift driving experience is preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Performs troubleshooting and repair on electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
  • Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment.
  • Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance.
  • Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
  • Performs corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
  • Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
  • Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
  • Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
  • Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
