Creative Technology Coordinator – Teen Tech Center

Position Summary The Creative Technology Coordinator is a high-energy, relationship-driven leader who serves as a key partner to the Teen Tech Center Program Director. This role oversees the daily operations of the Teen Tech Center (TTC), with primary leadership of the Music Production Studio and Coding Lab.

The Coordinator empowers teens to explore their interests through hands-on, project-based learning in technology, music, and digital media. This role blends mentorship, program facilitation, and technical support to create a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment where youth can build skills, confidence, and pathways to future success.

Key Responsibilities Program Design & Implementation Supervise and ensure the Teen Tech Center is open, safe, and fully operational during after-school hours

Develop and facilitate engaging, project-based S.T.E.A.M. workshops

Lead programming in music production (Logic, FL Studio, Pro Tools), beat-making, podcasting, and coding (Python, Scratch, Web Development)
Encourage youth participation through hands-on exploration of technology and creative tools

Promote a culture of discovery, creativity, and learning by design

Youth Engagement & Mentorship Build authentic, supportive relationships with teens, serving as a positive and relatable role model

Provide guidance that supports personal growth, skill development, and future planning (education and career pathways)
Manage groups of up to 20 youth while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment

Foster a welcoming space that uplifts diversity and encourages self-expression

Leadership & Collaboration Serve as a “right-hand” to the Program Director to ensure smooth daily operations

Recruit, train, and support volunteer mentors

Collaborate with internal and external teams, including Workforce Development, to enhance programming and partnerships

Participate in Clubhouse Network collaborations, meetings, and trainings (some travel may be required)
Community Outreach & Partnerships Build relationships with local schools, community leaders, and families to increase program participation

Support recruitment efforts and expand the Teen Tech Center’s reach

Engage with national partners and contribute to collaborative initiatives

Operations & Administration Maintain accurate records including attendance, program data, and participant outcomes

Document and evaluate program impact through surveys and assessments

Ensure proper maintenance of technology, including troubleshooting, updates, and inventory management

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the TTC space

Support reporting requirements and database management

Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to safety protocols, emergency preparedness, and crisis management procedures

Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all interactions

Uphold organizational policies, procedures, and mission

This position was funded through a grant partnership and was contingent upon renewal of that funding.

Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred

Must be at least 18 years old Experience working with youth, particularly teens preferred

Experience in informal learning environments (e.g., after-school programs, camps, studios, community centers) preferred

Technical Skills & Knowledge Demonstrated experience or strong interest in music production, digital arts, or computer science

Proficiency with Apple and Microsoft systems, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database tools

Basic technical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills

Core Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to build relationships and create a welcoming, inclusive environment

Excellent time management, organization, and ability to prioritize tasks

Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team Trauma-informed approach when working with youth

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines

Additional Requirements CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass DMV record check (if applicable)
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
