Staff Accountant

Our client, a growing manufacturing company in the Raleigh area, is seeking an Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment supporting financial reporting, month-end close activities, and operational accounting processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in helping drive process improvements within a manufacturing setting.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Assist with inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis
• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Review vendor invoices and assist with accounts payable processes
• Monitor cash flow and identify unusual transactions or trends
• Partner with operations and production teams to improve financial controls and reporting
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environments
• Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Net Suite, or similar platforms is a plus
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
