JOB SUMMARY

The SAP Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial reporting. This role supports cost transparency, financial accuracy, and informed business decision-making within a manufacturing environment. The position partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance teams to maintain accurate standard costs, perform variance analysis, support month-end manufacturing close activities, and provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Requirements

COST ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, manufacturing overhead, and finished goods.
  • Manage product costing activities, including standard cost calculations, actual cost rolls, and cost updates.
  • Support new material setup and costing workflows, including material master data governance and approvals.
  • Perform month-end manufacturing accounting activities, including process order settlement, variance calculations, inventory valuation support, and manufacturing close procedures.
  • Execute material ledger costing activities, including costing runs, revaluation entries, reconciliations, and resolution of costing issues.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances including material usage, purchase price, labor, overhead, and production yield variances.
  • Prepare cost performance reports, profitability analysis, management reports, and other financial insights.
  • Monitor inventory transactions, reconcile balances, review adjustments, and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by providing cost accounting documentation and analysis.
  • Assist with invoice coding and cost allocation activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide cost data and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to identify cost savings opportunities and improve financial performance.
  • Participate in cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities.
  • Perform other general accounting, financial analysis, and administrative duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in cost accounting, manufacturing accounting, or financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, including:
  • Standard costing
  • Variance analysis
  • Inventory valuation
  • Manufacturing accounting
  • US GAAP and IFRS
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, including:
    Product Costing (CO-PC), Material Ledger, Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
