Job Description & How to Apply Below
Join a commercial construction firm with decades of history and a reputation built on attention to detail and quality workmanship — "the difference is in the details." We specialize in commercial interior fit-up and tenant improvement projects, partnering closely with commercial real estate professionals and businesses to deliver responsive, cost-effective builds. We’re looking for a Preconstruction Manager to lead our estimating and preconstruction efforts, helping us win and set up projects for success before the first hammer swings.
PerformanceObjectives
- Lead the preconstruction process from initial scope development through GMP/bid submission, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and quantity takeoffs for commercial interior and tenant improvement projects.
- Identify cost-effective solutions and value-engineering opportunities during the design and planning phases.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive, reliable pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure a smooth handoff from preconstruction to execution.
- Support proposal development and client-facing presentations during the pursuit phase.
- Join a team with decades of history and a strong reputation for quality and responsiveness in the commercial construction market.
- Work closely with project managers and site teams who maintain an ownership mentality and hands-on presence on every job.
- Serve clients across commercial leasing, tenant improvement, and interior buildout projects.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in preconstruction and estimating within commercial construction.
- Strong command of estimating software and cost-estimation methodologies for interior/tenant improvement projects.
- Proven ability to develop accurate budgets, GMPs, and bid packages under tight timelines.
- Established relationships with subcontractors and vendors, with strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across project management, field, and client teams.
- Join a well-established firm known for integrity, quality, and cost-conscious project delivery.
- Play a critical role in shaping project success from the earliest stages.
- Work in a close-knit, detail-oriented culture where craftsmanship and client relationships matter.
