Looking for a career where you can learn technical skills, work with customers and grow into a professional detailing role? CMC is seeking motivated individuals who enjoy problem-solving, working with computers, and communicating with customers. No prior rebar experience is required. We provide training on our detailing software, products, and processes.

This position is ideal for recent high school graduates, technical school graduates, community college students, and candidates with CAD, drafting, construction technology, or customer service experience who are looking to start a long‑term career.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for converting design data into specific placing drawings through the use of AutoCAD and/or Tekla and rebar specific software
  • Determine the quantity, size, length, and bending shapes of bars from instructions and data provided by design drawings and project details
  • Ability to interpret data presented on design documents
  • Ability to read and understand design documents to establish rebar requirements
  • Prepare detailed placing drawings for ironworkers at the job site to install the reinforcing bars within the framework
  • Prepare detailed bar lists to be used in the fabrication of reinforcement bars for each project
  • Establish communication as necessary with contractor, architect or engineer to obtain missing information pertinent to the project
  • Provides accurate placement drawings to the architect/engineer for approval
  • Work effectively in a team environment to promote productivity
  • Participate in planning meetings
  • Facilitate problem solving sessions to resolve issues
  • Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
  • Understand and comply with applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, security, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics)
What You'll Need
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a willingness to work directly with contractors and project teams
  • Basic computer skills required (outlook, excel, word, etc)
  • Experience with CAD software through school, technical training, internships, or work experience preferred
  • Ability to learn Auto Cad and/or Tekla and industry-specific detailing software
  • Basic math skills including algebra, geometry, and measurements
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints, or construction plans preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize objects in three dimensions
  • Problem-solving skills and willingness to ask questions and learn
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Customer service, retail, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, or office experience demonstrating strong communication skills preferred
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, CAD Technology, Construction Technology, Architectural Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
