Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher serving elementary-aged students in an adaptive separate setting. This contract position, located in Gastonia, NC, supports two schools with a full-time caseload of eight students requiring specialized educational services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
- Provide hands-on instruction and support in an adaptive separate classroom environment.
- Collaborate with paras, RBTs, CNAs, or LPNs who provide supervision and assistance within the classroom.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to foster academic, social, and emotional development.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with families, school staff, and district personnel.
- Participate in virtual panel-style interviews and fulfill all onboarding requirements, including necessary fingerprinting and licensure verification.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) license required.
- Experience working with elementary students, particularly in adaptive or separate settings, is highly valued.
- Comfortable working with a small caseload of approximately eight students.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary support staff.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Location and Duration:
This contract spans the current school year (CSY) within Lincoln County Schools, serving students in elementary schools located in the Gastonia, NC area.
