Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking a detail‑oriented CAD Designer to support the design and documentation of low‑voltage security and communications systems. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to produce accurate drawings for systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, structured cabling, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and revise CAD drawings for low‑voltage systems including:
- Access control
- Structured cabling (copper & fiber)
- Audio/visual and communications systems
- Develop floor plans, riser diagrams, device layouts, conduit pathways, and system schematics
- Interpret architectural, electrical, and civil drawings to integrate low‑voltage designs
- Maintain drawing standards, layer conventions, and title blocks
- Update drawings throughout project lifecycle (design, construction, as-built)
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and installers to resolve design conflicts
- Prepare permit, bid, and construction documentation as required
- Assist with equipment schedules, device counts, and bill of materials
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD Electrical a plus)
- Experience drafting low‑voltage systems (security, communications, or structured cabling)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical plans
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of low‑voltage codes and standards (NEC, TIA/EIA, etc.)
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- 2+ years of CAD experience in low‑voltage or electrical design
- Experience with security systems manufacturers (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Bosch, etc.)
- Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, or Visio
- Knowledge of fiber optic design and pathways
- Field experience or understanding of installation practices
