Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrical Designer to develop electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for industrial facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical systems for manufacturing plants, processing facilities, and other industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings such as single-line diagrams, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and equipment layouts
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations
- Select electrical equipment including transformers, switch gear, MCCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, local regulations)
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and process teams to integrate electrical systems
- Review vendor drawings and technical submittals
- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
- Assist in preparing cost estimates and project documentation
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in industrial electrical design (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software
- Knowledge of industrial power systems and control systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation, and automation systems
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
