What Challenge Will You Be Taking On?

The European Space Agency's (ESA) CELESTE programme aims to define and evaluate a new generation of satellite navigation systems based on low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations, complementing the current GNSS systems in medium Earth orbit (MEO). This programme addresses challenges relating to technology, system architecture, interoperability and the provision of high-precision, resilient and low-latency navigation services. The next phase of the programme is CELESTE In-Orbit Preparation (IOP), a large-scale project covering the end-to-end system and integrating multiple sub-projects.

Lead the execution of the CELESTE project or one of its sub-projects, ensuring compliance with technical objectives, planning and budget. Act as the main point of contact with the ESA and other programme clients/partners. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (systems, space segment, ground segment, navigation, operations, etc.). Oversee the definition of the LEO navigation system architecture (constellation, payloads, links, ground segment, etc.).

Manage project risks, opportunities and dependencies. Prepare and lead project reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) in accordance with ECSS standards.

What Do We Need In Our Team?

For this role, we are looking for candidates with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics or a similar discipline, and with proven experience in:
Management of complex space projects. Knowledge of GNSS systems (Galileo, GPS or others) and the principles of satellite navigation. Experience in systems engineering (requirements definition, architecture, interfaces). Knowledge of ECSS standards and space project life cycles. Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams. Ability to liaise with institutional clients (ideally ESA). High level of English (spoken and written).
