Técnico/a Especialista En Protección Y Control De Subestaciones (M/F/D)

We are looking for a specialist in electrical substation protection and control systems, oriented to the customer. You will join the Customer Service area, participating in national projects—especially in data centers—and mainly performing tests and commissioning of protection relays.

Your role will be to carry out application engineering and consulting work, configuration of integrated protection and control systems, as well as technical interventions for FAT and SAT tests.

Main responsibilities:

• Configuration of the necessary equipment according to what has been developed in the engineering schemes
• Commissioning of protection and control equipment and systems, performing the corresponding tests.
• Integration of all components of the system in the communication network.
• Analysis of incidents in the customer's electrical installations.
• Supervise and coordinate adequately in the field all internal and subcontracted resources for the correct execution of the work, in those works that require additional technical resources or personnel.
• Follow and enforce Siemens' health and environmental safety policies with its assigned personnel.
• Review and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure the execution of the work in accordance with local, customer, industry, and corporate laws, regulations, and/or standards.
• Maintain constant communication in the field with the customer, for coordination and project management.
• Daily communication, written and/or verbal, with the Project manager and the site manager, about project evolution, changes, safety reviews, safety incidents (safety breaches, environmental incidents), changes in the scope of work, etc.
• Completion of the necessary documentation after finishing the work

Minimum requirements of the position:

• Higher Grade Vocational Training in Electricity, Electronics or degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing tests in protection and control systems in electrical substations and industrial installations.
• Experience in configuring equipment that integrates protection and control systems based on the IEC 61850 standard.
• Knowledge in configuration, parametrization, and testing of SEL brand relays.
• Valuable knowledge in FLORES for project design in relays.
• Knowledge of the IEC 61850 standard with the required level in application engineering.
• Correct interpretation of developed schemes and operating logics of electrical installations.
• Knowledge of electrical symbolism, maneuvering elements, and protection functions.
• Know and manage the tools and applications necessary to carry out the commissioning (primary and secondary injection kits).
• Certified in the required PRL courses for access to electrical installations.
• Ability to supervise in the field not only technical personnel, but also working conditions, with the aim of providing a healthy work environment and respectful of the environment.
• Fluent English both written and conversational.
• Willingness to work in Spain. Valuable residence in Zaragoza or Huesca.
• B1 driver's license.
• Good time management and analysis capacity.
• Must have a positive and proactive attitude.
• Facility for written and oral communication, time management, and analysis capacity.
• Teamwork, and individual work.
• Handling of software based on MS Office, Word and Windows, as well as online platforms and applications.

• Knowledge of time synchronization systems IRIG-B, PTP, IEEE

• Experience in configuring equipment that is part of protection and control systems, especially Siemens and SEL brands.
