Speech Language Pathologist in Gastonia, NC

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language therapy services to students in grades K-8, serving approximately 25 students
• Manage a caseload including around 55 students with general speech needs and 10 AAC device users
• Support 2 self-contained classrooms through targeted therapy interventions
• Collaborate with the Lead Occupational Therapist for co-treatment sessions, enhancing therapy outcomes
• Conduct mostly group sessions, typically consisting of 2-4 students
• Deliver individualized speech services to 17 students with specific speech-only needs
• Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines

• Valid SLP certification with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
• Experience working as an SLP in a school environment
• Strong skills in assessing and treating a wide range of speech and communication disorders
• Ability to effectively use AAC devices with students who have complex communication needs
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and therapy team members
• Knowledge of co-treatment approaches and integrated therapy planning
