Overview
IHS Metals Recycling is seeking an experienced crane operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a crane to lift, move, and position loads in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience operating cranes in a variety of settings, including construction sites, warehouses, and industrial plants. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of safety protocols.

Role- Operate equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with training and manufacturer’s instruction
- Perform pre-shift safety inspection on the vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories to ensure no damages or malfunctions to the equipment
- Report needed repairs to supervision
- Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
- Assist with operation of other equipment as needed
- Adhere to OSHA and plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Perform duties with minimum supervision
- Perform routine maintenance on crane
- Load and unload materials from crane
- Communicate with other workers to ensure proper placement of materials
- Help unload customer vehicles, load trailers, roll off boxes, keep the yard clean, identify & buys ferrous & non-ferrous materials, run forklift, etc.
- Must be able to work possible weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed
- Must be able to read equipment operating manual
- Must be able to complete pre-shift inspection report
- Must be able to read and interpret gauges
- Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
- Must have the physical abilities to perform the daily functions
- Ability to operate a magnetic grapple is a plus
