Job Title: Truss Builder

Reports to: Division Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Division: Gastonia, NC

Summary :

Performs all duties required to manufacture roof/floor trusses and wall panels on the shop floor.

Job Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for material handling of lumber and truss plates
  • Cuts lumber per shop drawings
  • Sets jig templates and truss geometry per shop drawings
  • Assembles parts to produce trusses per shop drawings
  • Stacks and bands finished goods per order
  • Conforms to all safety requirements while working in the shop
  • Keeps the shop work area clean
  • Performs other duties, as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Comfortable using the following equipment:
    Forklift;
    Skill saw;
    Miter saw;
    Component saw;
    Linear saw;
    Tape measure;
    Hammer;
    Wrench for jig hardware
  • Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and tolerances
  • Ability to build to manufacturing specifications and tolerances

Education/Experience :

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
