2nd Shift Paint Supervisor
Location: Gastonia, NC 28056
Pay:
Starting at $17/hr (DOE)

Monday – Thursday | 5:30 PM – 4:00 AM
We are seeking an experienced Paint Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a manufacturing paint department in Gastonia, NC. This role is responsible for leading paint line operations, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, supporting employee development, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
The ideal candidate has previous leadership experience within a powder coating, paint finishing, or metal manufacturing environment and understands the importance of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities- Supervise daily operations within the paint and finishing department.
- Lead, train, and support paint department employees to achieve production goals.
- Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure painted components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Oversee powder coating processes, including preparation, application, curing, and inspection.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to paint application, equipment, and workflow.
- Perform quality checks and address defects such as coverage issues, runs, sags, or contamination.
- Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Promote safety procedures, PPE compliance, and proper equipment operation.
- Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with powder coating, paint finishing, or metal fabrication processes preferred.
- Knowledge of paint application methods, surface preparation, and curing processes.
- Strong understanding of quality standards and production requirements.
- Ability to read work instructions, production documents, and basic blueprints.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the production environment.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
. - Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, paint materials, and production processes.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and protective equipment as needed.
