2nd Shift Paint Supervisor

Location: Gastonia, NC 28056
Pay:
Starting at $17/hr (DOE)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Paint Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a manufacturing paint department in Gastonia, NC. This role is responsible for leading paint line operations, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, supporting employee development, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

The ideal candidate has previous leadership experience within a powder coating, paint finishing, or metal manufacturing environment and understands the importance of quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations within the paint and finishing department.
  • Lead, train, and support paint department employees to achieve production goals.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, and production schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure painted components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Oversee powder coating processes, including preparation, application, curing, and inspection.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to paint application, equipment, and workflow.
  • Perform quality checks and address defects such as coverage issues, runs, sags, or contamination.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Promote safety procedures, PPE compliance, and proper equipment operation.
  • Assist with process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with powder coating, paint finishing, or metal fabrication processes preferred.
  • Knowledge of paint application methods, surface preparation, and curing processes.
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and production requirements.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production documents, and basic blueprints.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the production environment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
    .
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment, paint materials, and production processes.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and protective equipment as needed.
