The Catholic communities of McDowell and Wyoming Counties seek a faithful Catholic Pastoral Associate to assist our shared parish communities in advancing the mission of evangelization, faith formation, and pastoral outreach. Working alongside our priest, this person will help nurture parish life across four rural church locations.
Primary Responsibilities- Support preparation for liturgies and sacramental celebrations
- Coordinate adult faith formation, OCIA, CCD, prayer groups, and Bible studies
- Encourage and train lay ministry participation
- Visit the sick and homebound and assist with pastoral outreach, including local correctional facilities
- Assist with parish administration, records, calendars, and communications
- Collaborate with Catholic Charities, food pantry efforts, and parish fundraising initiatives
- Practicing Catholic in good standing
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field (or in progress)
- Prefer parish/office ministry experience
- Ability to work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and serve diverse communities
- Virtus Safe Environment certification (current or in progress)
About 30 hours weekley, including some weekend visibility at liturgies
