The Staff Nurse is responsible for implementing the philosophies, objectives, standards of care, and policies and procedures of the Nursing Division under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The Staff Nurse provides direct patient care and may function as a charge nurse according to the Nurse Manager's expectations for an assigned shift.

- Graduate from an NCBON-approved School of Nursing or an approved School of Nursing.
- Current RN license with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or a Compact License recognized by the Board.
- Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
- Professional role model qualities.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care and assess patient data reflecting growth and development over the lifespan.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Carolina East's Standards of Excellence.
