We are located between the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and the soft, sandy beaches of NC. About a 1.5‑2.5 hour drive to either for long weekends of fun!
As a veterinarian in our state‑of‑the‑art hospital (opening June 20, 2025) you will be responsible for providing high‑quality medical care to a variety of companion animals and performing small animal care.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough examinations of animals and diagnose illnesses or injuries
- Develop and implement treatment plans for companion animals based on their conditions
- Train to perform or perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering, pyometra removals, tumor removals, eye enucleations
- Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, exercise, and grooming
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid NC state veterinary license with 1 year experience
- Proficiency in animal catheterization, animal restraint, and general animal care techniques
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively educate pet owners
- Ability to handle dogs and other animals with care and compassion
- Knowledge of practice management software (Clinic HQ preferred, but not required)
