Piper Companies is seeking a Microbiologist to support a leading organization within the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry. This Microbiologist opportunity is a 6+ month contract role focused on environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, and cleanroom operations within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This position is open to both entry-level candidates with a bachelor's degree and experienced laboratory professionals looking to expand their expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Responsibilities- Perform environmental monitoring activities, including viable air, surface, and personnel sampling within controlled manufacturing and laboratory environments.
- Conduct routine microbiology laboratory testing and generate accurate, GMP-compliant documentation of results and observations.
- Evaluate environmental monitoring data, identify trends, and assist with basic investigations and troubleshooting activities.
- Operate and maintain sampling equipment, laboratory instruments, and testing systems used to support contamination control programs.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of laboratory materials while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- Understanding of basic analytical chemistry concepts, including the ability to create standard curves and calculate unknown sample concentrations through interpolation.
- Experience gained through coursework, internships, academic research, or industry roles in microbiology, chemistry, or laboratory sciences.
Comfortable completing cleanroom gowning certification and routinely working in ISO 5 and ISO 7 classified environments while spending extended periods on your feet. - Strong technical writing, documentation, observation, and data analysis skills with the ability to follow procedures in a regulated setting.
Associate I Salary Range: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Associate II Salary Range: $30.00/hr - $37.00/hr
Contract Length: 6+ Months
