** Description of Work
** Salary Range: $39,244 - $68,679 Reporting directly to Facility Maintenance Supervisor IV, the primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, alter, and repair plumbing systems and components at the journey level of the plumbing trade. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performing journey level duties in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air, gas, water, and waste disposal systems.
- Routinely working assignments where repair is needed and assignments that involve work of special or unusual nature, which are accompanied by specific instructions.
- Using power tools associated with plumbing trade, cutting and threading pipe, utilizing motorized and mechanical tools, and familiar with building, life, and safety codes.
- Soldering copper pipe and utilizing the standard tools and materials required for those types of procedures.
- Making material list(s) for projects and submitting to supervisor for review.
- Making up lead joints and installing various types of plastic pipe, also knowledge in replacing stainless steel and porcelain plumbing fixtures. - Supervising semi-skilled male offenders and subject to emergency call back.

** NC08**. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. Based upon these factors, a pay increase May result.
