Position Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining highly automated manufacturing equipment with primary focus on electrical, electronic, and control systems. This role supports production uptime and equipment reliability by responding to breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and completing repairs in a safe and timely manner.

The successful candidate will have strong electrical maintenance fundamentals and practical troubleshooting ability in automated manufacturing equipment. This position is expected to diagnose and correct electrical and controls-related issues independently, support equipment upgrades and improvement activities, and contribute to effective maintenance repair methods and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment with emphasis on electrical, electronic, and controls-related issues
  • Diagnose and correct equipment issues independently and escalate complex issues as appropriate
  • Execute preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, projects, and repair activities on manufacturing equipment
  • Support upgrades and improvements to existing equipment, process design, and maintenance repair methods
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, including field devices, wiring, sensors, relays, and control components
  • Repair and replace electrical components such as sensors, switches, relays, contractors, overloads, drives, motors, and related hardware
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and equipment manuals
  • Accurately document maintenance work, downtime events, parts usage, and follow-up actions in SAP-PM
  • Communicate equipment status and repair progress clearly to production supervision and maintenance leadership
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance effectiveness
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and electrical safe work practices, including LOTO requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 2-year EE technical degree preferred or equivalent technical certifications
  • Minimum 5 years of equipment maintenance and reliability experience with relevant manufacturing equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and correct issues independently
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical systems and machine controls
  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, relays, drives, motors, and related electrical components
  • Working knowledge of Siemens S5 PLC systems is required
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to use electrical diagnostic tools safely and effectively, including multimeters and related test equipment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and ability to work with limited supervision
  • Willingness to accommodate overtime, schedule changes, or emergency support based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC systems
  • Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience with SAP-PM or other CMMS systems
  • Working knowledge of HMIs, industrial networking, and controls diagnostics
  • Experience supporting equipment and process improvement initiatives
