Position: Direct Support Professional- AFL provider (Alternative family living)

Alternative Family Living Provider

Entry level job applicants are welcome!

We are hiring compassionate, hard working, friendly and reliable AFL providers who will work with individuals with intellectual and/ or developmental disabilities (I/DD). If you don't have previous I/DD experience, we'll provide training!

Primary Purpose of Provider:
This position provides support and care for the consumer living in the AFL provider's home. The AFL Provider implements activities as outlined in the Individual Service Plan prepared. All activities are documented daily.

Work Schedule:

The AFL provider supports the individual or individuals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unless the consumer is involved in other day programs or has been approved to receive respite or visit with natural support.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching skills to promote independence
  • Supporting community inclusion and integration
  • Assisting with daily living needs
  • Mentoring individuals to help build social skills and relationships
  • Provide guidance and support in daily activities

Qualifications:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • You might be driving to client's home or with client, so a reliable form of transportation
