Piper Companies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) for a leading technology organization located in RTP, NC. The Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) will lead quality strategy, test automation, and validation efforts for a platform that provides real-time visibility into certification programs, project milestones, deliverables, risks, and program progress. The Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) is a long-term contract opportunity supporting enterprise software development and quality engineering initiatives.
Responsibilitiesof the Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET):
- Design and implement the overall test strategy for a complex program management platform
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications, APIs, backend services, and data pipelines
- Build automated regression, integration, functional, and end-to-end test suites to ensure application quality and reliability
- Validate integrations with tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, SharePoint, Confluence, Git Hub, and other enterprise platforms
- Partner with engineering teams to establish quality gates within CI/CD pipelines and improve release confidence
- 5+ years of experience in Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), software testing, or quality engineering roles
- Proven experience creating and implementing a test automation framework from scratch
- Strong programming experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or Type Script
- Experience developing automated testing frameworks and testing enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools, Agile methodologies, and Dev Ops practices
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- $110,000 - $130,000 annually equivalent, based on experience
