Pay: £120–£140 per day, dependent on experience
Are you a Level 3 Teaching Assistant looking to develop your experience within a specialist SEND environment?
Protocol Education are working with a specialist provision in Gateshead to recruit a TA to support children and young people with physical and/or medical needs
.
You'll provide practical and educational support while helping pupils access learning through assistive technology, specialist equipment and accessible ICT
.
- Support pupils with physical and medical needs.
- Help deliver and adapt learning activities.
- Encourage independence, confidence and participation.
- Support pupils using assistive technology.
- Set up, check and prepare specialist equipment.
- Support accessible ICT and alternative communication.
- Assist with basic equipment troubleshooting.
- Support safe movement, positioning and physical access.
- Follow individual health and support plans.
- Work closely with specialist teachers and other professionals.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback.
- Support staff and families with inclusive practice.
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Previous SEND or specialist education experience.
- Experience supporting children with physical and/or medical needs.
- Good ICT skills and confidence using technology.
- Willingness to learn how to use specialist equipment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisation and record-keeping.
- Flexible approach to working across different settings.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
This is an opportunity to build valuable specialist experience while helping pupils overcome barriers and access their education as independently as possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
